Dr. Stankosky at the Smart E-Learning Russia 2011 International Education Forum

Dr. Michael Stankosky was a keynote speaker at Smart E-Learning Russia 2011 International Education Forum, where he made a presentation on knowledge management and smart e-learning on June.  He also moderated an open round table discussion on knowledge management in the 21st century at Moscow State University of Economics, Statisitcs, and Informatics (MESI).

He presented the GWU-IKI Distinguished Fellow Certificate to President, Vladimir Tikhomirov of MESI.

GWU & KSU: KM Education Forum, First Annual Summit on May 5th & 6th, 2011 in Washington, DC

WHAT:
The Institute for Knowledge & Innovation (IKI) at the George Washington University (GWU), in collaboration with Kent State University (KSU) is hosting a two-day annual summit in Washington, DC as part of the new joint venture between the unversities known as Knowledge Management Education Forum (KMEF).

State of the Knowledge Economy

On the eve of President Obama's State of the Union address Tuesday night, Fareed Zakaria writes in the Washington Post to emphasize Federal investments in research and innovation. If the United States is to maintain its competitive advantage as the innovation and economic power house, it must invest a significant percentage of its GDP in research and development efforts which would lead to innovations that could solve our world's most pressing problems.

Special Issue of VINE on Culture and Knowledge Management

Dr. Michael Stankosky and Dr. Francesco A. Calabrese were guest editors for a special issue of VINE, published in November, 2010 and titled Cultural impacts on knowledge management in the twenty-first century (Volume 40 Issue 3/4). This special issue focuses on the impact of culture, whether it is national, generational or organizational culture, on knowledge management.

Special Issue of On the Horizon: Evolution of 21st century knowledge workers

Dr. Francesco Calabrese published a guest editorial in the latest special issue of On the Horizon (Volume 18 issue 3). The article, titled Evolution of twenty-first century knowledge workers,  conveys background and historical settings on the evolution of knowledge management research and practices since the late 1990s in programs of The George Washington University (GWU). The settings aim to support the papers of a special issue of the journal for exploring the future of knowledge workers in the twenty-first century.

Dr. Calabrese visits IKI South East Asia

Dr. Francesco Calabrese recently visited IKI South East Asia (IKI-SEA) at Bangkok University (BU), Thailand. During his visit he co-presented a half-day seminar titled “Knowledge Management Lessons Learned from the USA and Thailand” along with Dr. Prapon Phasukyud, President of The Knowledge Management Institute (KMI), Thailand.

Dr. Calabrese visits Hong Kong Polytechnic University

Dr. Francesco Calabrese, along with Dr. Vincent Ribiere and Dr. Lugkana Worasinchai of IKI South East Asia (IKI-SEA) and Bangkok University (BU), visited Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). The group met with Dr. W.B. Lee, Industrial Engineering Department, Manager of Knowledge Management Research Centre (KMRC) at PolyU and co-editor of the VINE: The journal of information and knowledge management systems.
